When we floated the idea of offering the old turf to the community we weren't fully aware of the logistics.  It turns out that there is compacted sand in the bottom of the old turf that cannot be removed.  Consequently, each 15m x 4m roll weighs between 1,500kg to 1,800kg.  It's so heavy that we can't even move it to the top of the car park where it was to be made available for distribution.

As a result we have given up on that idea and are no longer able to make it available to the public.  It will be re-purposed to stabilise the surrounds of the landfill meaning it will still be repurposed for good usage at no cost to the club.
