Last Saturday, we officially opened our new turf with the help of Ngati Whatua, who blessed our fields and a ribbon cutting ceremony by Councillor of Orakei Ward, Desley Simpson followed by a celebrity match of both touch and netball.

We thank all those that were present, Jarrod Bear of Auckland Rugby Union, Anna Stanley who organised the celebrity teams and our Club members who took part in the beautiful blessing by Ngati Whatua - it may have played a part in our Premiers clinching a win over Papatoetoe in the last play of the game. We thank all our sponsors, supporters, neighbours for their patience and club members for their support and tireless efforts to continue to bring top class facilities to our club, College Rifles.
